Adastra Systems Provides Board Support Package for Wind River System's Tornado platform and VxWorks RTOS for X86 Single Board Computers
The BSP includes all files and images necessary to configure the Tornado development environment to build VxWorks operating system and application images to run on the VNS-786 and Neptune targets. (The Tornado platform and VxWorks RTOS are purchased separately from Wind River Systems). The BSP also includes a pre-built image, with Ethernet support, that can be used as the initial means to establish communication from the target to the Tornado development system. Bootable from floppy, IDE, or M-Systems DiskOnChip, the pre-built image allows the developer to quickly and easily download and debug new OS images.
The VNS-786 and Neptune SBCs are based on the Intel i430TX chipset and support Intel Pentium-MMX and similar processors. Small and highly integrated, they are targeted for embedded applications. The Neptune and VNS-786 include 10/100 Ethernet, SoundBlasterPro audio, USB, and a full complement of PC I/O. The VNS-786 also includes onboard SVGA with 2M of video RAM capable of driving both CRTs and flat panel displays.
The Tornado platform provides an integrated development environment under Windows NT, including a comprehensive suite of cross-development tools and utilities, and a full range of communications options for the target connection to the host. The VxWorks operating system is the run-time component of the Tornado platform, and comprises the core capabilities of the wind microkernel along with advanced networking support. - MORE - The Board Support Package is available from Adastra Systems for $295.00.
