VenturCom and Xycom Automation partner on engine control systems project
David Rubenthaler, a software developer with Woodward Governor Company, said, "The power and precision that utility turbines and engine control systems require demand real-time technology with guaranteed performance and reliability. Mainstream compatibility and robust interfaces make Windows NT Embedded the ideal operating system to help us bring MicroNet to market rapidly, while VenturCom's RTX provides the real-time determinism that MicroNet requires. We are glad that Xycom Automation has selected VenturCom's RTX for use with its VMEbus computers."
Ralph Damato, director of product marketing at Xycom Automation, said, "In the past, the customer had to assume the burden of validating an operating system with a particular hardware solution. Today, customers are demanding pre-qualified development platforms in order to reduce development costs and time to market. The fact that VenturCom conducts such pre-qualification tasks was a key ingredient in Woodward Governor's ultimate decision to work with VenturCom and Xycom on its MicroNet product."
