Andrea's patented ANR earphone technology addresses the low frequency noise reduction needs of several markets, including computing, telecommunications, industrial and military. In June 1998, Andrea Electronics announced it had received a Notice of Allowance on a patent for open and closed loop systems, referring to methods for independently calibrating the ANR apparatus separately from its electrical assembly. This has given Andrea Electronics the unique ability to offer a high performance earphone system for use in applications where the headset is independent of the electronics control unit, addressing markets that will include military vehicles, aircraft cabins and others.
