EBSnet announces SNMP V3 Protocol support

Source: EBSnet Inc.
EBSnet,an established provider of embedded internet software since 1987,announced that RTIP now supports SNMP Version 3. RTIP is EBSnet 's long proven TCP-IP network stack that has previously supported Simple Network Management Protocol versions 1 and 2. Now,systems administrators using RTIP can have the added security of authentication and privatization with SNMPV3.

Simple Network Management Protocol has made it possible for administrators to configure and monitor remote equipment functioning on any LAN or WAN.The addition of Version 2 added some security to the protocol, but fell short of complete protection for systems.Version 3 offers the ability to restrict access to certain users and/or restrict individual system variables through the use of authentication and privatization.Authentication ensures that only certain ‘individuals 'can access the system.Privatization encrypts information passed through the system to prevent detection by unwelcome readers.

EBSnet 's SNMPV3 supports MD5 and SHA-1 authenticated and DES-encrypted SNMPv3-compliant message exchange as well as user based security model (RFC2574).It is available now for use with RTIP enabled embedded devices.

SNMPV3 protocol is priced starting at $4500,and is available now from EBSnet for use with their RTIP network stack. EBSnet Inc.
