Intelligraphics to Provide Systems Integration Services for Windows CE

June 13, 2000

<%=company1%> will leverage its leading position as a developer of device drivers and system software for Win32-based platforms and the embedded development expertise of its development team to provide a unique source for embedded development services under Windows CE. Recognizing Intelligraphics' value to OEMs, Microsoft has recently named Intelligraphics as a systems integrator for Windows CE.

Intelligraphics is a leading provider of device drivers for the PC IHV market, having concentrated on display drivers and 3D acceleration since the company's inception in 1992. Intelligraphics has supplied software development services to virtually all of the leading PC graphics silicon vendors. The company has diversified to address other elements in a multimedia PC, having written audio, MPEG, and video solutions for IHV's. Intelligraphics has significant expertise in writing software to enable Media Processors, a silicon product that is anticipated to play a major role in the Windows CE category.

Many of Intelligraphics' engineers possess a long history in the embedded systems market, having worked with a spectrum of real time OS kernels, hardware debugging devices, and embedded system development environments. Intelligraphics will utilize this talented group to provide one stop shopping for Windows CE and all embedded software needs. The company will offer the OEM Adaptation Layer (OAL), built-in and installable device drivers, porting services for embedded applications, real-time system software, kernel modifications and system firmware development.

"In recent weeks we've seen several of the leading PC graphics silicon vendors demonstrate reference designs for set top boxes and home entertainment devices in ATI, Cirrus Logic, and S3. By making incremental investments in a new hardware platform surrounding their existing silicon and porting their Win32-based drivers and applications to an embedded OS such as Windows CE, these companies can tap into a whole new market for intelligent appliances. Intelligraphics will make an ideal partner in helping IHV's make the transition to Windows CE." said Steve Urquhart, Intelligraphics' VP of New Business Development.

"Intelligraphics' understanding and experience of real-time simulators, device drivers and the multimedia market will help provide customers with a great resource for Windows CE embedded development," said Debryn Bear, group program manager in the Windows CE product unit at Microsoft Corp. "Adding Intelligraphics as a systems integrator for Windows CE illustrates Microsoft's commitment to the Windows CE platform and shows its expansion in the embedded space."

Intelligraphics, based in Richardson, Texas, is a leader in device driver and system level software development. Founded in 1992, Intelligraphics provides 2D and 3D graphics driver development and performance optimization, audio, video, Windows CE, WDM, USB, communications driver and custom software development. Intelligraphics' IntelliBench Driver Developer's Workbench is a comprehensive driver optimization and profiling tool serving the leading graphics hardware and computer systems companies.
