InHand Electronics Joins Freescale Technology Forum Keynote, Introduces Record-Breaking, Ultra-Compact Computer Board Based On New Freescale SCM-i.MX6D

Embedded system and mobile device design firm demonstrates fully-functioning single board computer based on new Freescale’s new single chip system module (SCM) at FTF 2015

Austin, TX (PRWEB) - InHand Electronics, a leading original design manufacturer of low-power embedded systems and handheld and rugged devices, delivered a new computer board based on Freescale’s® single chip module (SCM) technology, called Fury-M6 (FM6). Freescale introduced its new SCM-i.MX6D product during the Freescale Technology Forum’s (FTF) keynote presentation, where InHand presented a live demo of the FM6. InHand’s new system, which progressed from start to stage in just seven weeks, grows InHand’s existing family of Freescale-based systems. The Fury-M6 is InHand’s first module-based system, as Freescale’s SCM-i.MX6D is the first of several SCM devices planned by Freescale.

Powering the Fury-M6, Freescale’s SCM-i.MX6D integrates an i.MX 6 dual core processor, power management circuitry, NOR flash, and 1 GB LPDDR2 memory within a single package the size of a U.S. dime. The Fury-M6 also includes: 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth BLE wireless communications, LCD with touchscreen interface, battery charger, and common peripheral interfaces within a tiny 2.75 x 2” footprint. This makes the Fury-M6, which can run Linux or Android, the smallest, highest feature density Cortex-A class ARM computer to date.

The Fury-M6 is on display at Arrow’s FTF Technology Lab booth through Thursday, June 25 and on Freescale’s Internet of Tomorrow Tour exhibit through 2015. InHand is immediately available to begin custom designs based on the Fury-M6 platform. The commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Fury-M6 will be available August 2015.
