New software analysis tool from California Micro Devices objectively assists component specifier, purchasers, and engineers in evaluating the real costs of using discretes or integrated thin film termination, filtering, EMI/RFI, and ESD components. Designed to objectively compare whether thin film integrated components provide a cost advantage over discretes, this analysis tool considers the complete cost of ownership on a system board. After taking the user through a series of questions such as number of operators and number of via holes, the software then analyzes whether a specified CMD integrated thin film product can used as a replacement.
