Real-time systems have exacting performance requirements, including deterministic response times for key operations. VenturCom offers RTX as a product enabling Windows NT, Windows NT Embedded and Windows 2000 to address these requirements. RTX Demo comes in two components, an evaluation version of the RTX Runtime (which adds deterministic scheduling to Windows), and an RTX Runtime Demo application that graphically illustrates response time latencies in the Win32 and RTSS environments. RTX Demo measures the total time from a timer interrupt to the execution of the final application thread. It is a realistic measurement of latencies encountered by an application. RTX Demo updates each second and offers a snapshot of response-time measurements. It presents the results in both a trend and histogram view along with minimum, average and worst-case values.
