Details

SpiderPPP is a portable, STREAMS-based implementation of the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). It has been licensed and implemented running with several Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), including VxWorks, by telecommunications equipment manufacturers for the delivery of products aimed at the fixed and wireless telecommunications services, and the Internet Service Provision (ISP) markets.

The software supports PPP as defined by RFC 1661, Multi-Link PPP as per RFC 1990, Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS), CHAP and PAP, and includes an upper DLPI interface. It also operates simultaneously over modem lines, a WAN synchronous line or an ISDN line, in conjunction with Spider's WAN products.

The system can be licensed as a source or binary code implementation. It is licensed to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Systems Integrators. Typical applications include providing IP access across serial, WAN or ISDN lines for access routers, communications boards, set top boxes, workstations and communications servers.
