About Us

PlanetGov was founded in 1983 by Mr. Reginald English for the purpose of providing computer maintenance services. In the late 1980's the company became a participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small and Disadvantaged Business 8(a) program. The SBA recognized PlanetGov for its success in this program.

PlanetGov formed a joint venture with Concept Automation, Inc. to pursue and perform a $75 million contract with the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons that pioneered the first joint venture agreement under the 8(a) program. The original founding team grew PlanetGov 200+ million in annual revenue in 2000.

In February 1998, a controlling interest in PlanetGov was purchased by five senior executives who previously managed a $450 million business unit within BTG, Inc. These executives - Steve Baldwin, Paul Collins, Steve Schlosser, Scott Reynolds, and Brian Nightingale - brought a breadth of sales, marketing, operational, and financial expertise to PlanetGov that has fueled PlanetGov's recent rapid growth to more than $120 million of profitable business by the end of 1998, mostly in sales of desktop computers, servers, networking products, and technical services.

Services that PlanetGov currently provides include network engineering, enterprise management, application development and tailoring, system configuration, and maintenance.
