16 input/ 16 output PCI Digital I/O Card

Sealevel Systems, Inc.stems, Inc. announces the DIO-32.PCI, a 16 input/ 16 output Digital I/O interface for the PCI bus as an addition to its product line.

The DIO-32.PCI provides 16 optically isolated inputs and 16 reed relay outputs, which can be utilized for PC based control and automation of equipment including sensors, switches, satellite antenna control systems, video and audio studio automation, security control systems, and other industrial automation systems.

Optically isolated inputs serve a vital role in eliminating equipment damage caused by line spikes and surges present in industrial environments. By utilizing isolated inputs, the board is isolated from voltage differences in the field, thus protecting the system inputs. Reed relays provide high quality, long life, low current, dry contact switch closures. Reed relays are well suited for low current applications. The status of a reed relay is normally open then closes when energized. Writing a ‘1' to the proper port bit can individually energize each relay.

The DIO-32.PCI includes a DB-78 to (2) DB-37 interface cable allowing the card to occupy only a single PCI slot. For development purposes, the DB­37 connectors can be interfaced directly to Sealevel's terminal block, Part# TB02. The TB02 provides a simple means to connect field wiring to Sealevel 37-pin I/O cards. The Sealevel Terminal Block provides both male and female DB-37 connectors eliminating the need for gender benders and other adapters while simplifying cable connections.
