The platform supplies OEMs with a range of features that, when combined, form the a flexible solution in the Internet appliance industry. These features include:

  • The platform is built around the Linux operating system, using the power of Java technology.
  • Proprietary reflash technology increases the lifespan of the OEM's hardware product by enabling remote updates and upgrades to the core software as well as user information management.
  • The modular nature of the operating system allows any functional upgrades to the core software to be incorporated into customized versions without additional development time or costs.

    The typical configuration would consist of an integrated software stack containing a full-featured Web browser, enhanced multi-media applications and plug-ins, instant messaging and customer-specific user interfaces and portals.
