Our new Battery-backed Static RAM (BBSRAM) PCI expansion card protects your state variables from loss over a power cycle. Retentive memory is ideal for applications ranging from manufacturing and process control through scientific testing and measurement.

The 32-bit PCI bus interface and 16 DWORD first-in, first-out (FIFO) write register provide extremely high bandwidth between your computer and the BBSRAM card. An on-board lithium battery backs up the card's 256 KB of non-volatile memory, ensuring up to ten years of data retention. A redundant external battery option is also available.

With our OpenControl software, you can refresh the memory either continuously, whenever a variable changes state, or on a scheduled basis. Similar refresh mechanisms can be implemented in other control software packages — kernel-mode drivers for Windows NT® 4.0 and Windows 2000® are included with the card, allowing "pointer-based" access to the BBSRAM card.

Extensive documentation and sample code for the BBSRAM card is available at nematron.com/BBSRAM. The documentation includes a comprehensive diagnostic utility and a fully documented reference application demonstrating the use of the card under Microsoft Windows.
