CMX Company has announced that CMX-MicroNet now fully supports multiple sockets, ethernet, and Java applets. CMX-MicroNet is the first commercial offering that provides true TCP/IP capabilities for the most popular 8-bit and 16-bit processors.

The addition of a multiple socket version of CMX-MicroNet now allows users the choice of a single socket implementation for applications with tight memory constraints or a multiple socket version which can support the faster data transfer needs of large html pages, ethernet, and certain other applications.

CMX-MicroNet is also now capable of serving Java applets via its HTTP Web Server module. This feature allows an applet to open its own sockets for bi-directional communication with the target or perform any function normally associated with Java applets.

CMX Company has developed a TCP/IP stack that will work with virtually all 8- and 16-bit processors and use only 3.5K bytes (Core + UDP/IP) to 17Kbytes (Core + TCP/IP + PPP + Modem + HTTP Web Server + Virtual File) of ROM, depending upon the processor and configuration.

CMX-MicroNet currently supports the 8051, the Atmel AVR, the Hitachi H8S, the Hitachi 300H, and the Infineon 80C16x series of processors.

CMXMicroNet can operate stand alone or in conjunction with an RTOS. It provides support for TCP, PPP, UDP, SLIP, IP, and HTTP Web Server. No proprietary protocols, gateways, or hardware is required to use the system.

Pricing starts at approximately $5,500.00 for the base system (pricing at time of publication).
