DATA MODUL Unveils New Embedded Platforms And Integrated Display Innovations At Embedded World 2026

DATA MODUL will once again be exhibiting at embedded world, showcasing embedded and display technologies designed for systems with high integration density, long-term availability and robust compatibility. Embedded world is the leading global trade fair for embedded systems, bringing together suppliers, developers and decision-makers from industry and technology.

i.MX95-based SBC for demanding industrial applications
One of the key highlights is the eDM-SBC-iMX95, a self-developed single-board computer in the PicoITX form factor (100 × 72 mm), based on the NXP i.MX95 application processor series. The SBC is designed for continuous industrial operation and supports an extended operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C. Targeting compute-intensive embedded applications, the platform combines high system integration with a compact footprint and long-term product availability. Typical use cases include industrial HMI applications for process visualisation and operator interaction, as well as ticketing and parking machines, particularly in outdoor environments. The board will be showcased as part of a live exhibit at the DATA MODUL booth.

15.6” PCAP touch display with integrated RFID/NFC
Another highlight is a 15.6" PCAP touch display with integrated RFID/NFC functionality embedded directly into the active display area. The RFID reader, compliant with ISO 14443, is fully integrated into the display and allows simultaneous use of touch and RFID features. The solution supports a wide range of RFID technologies across the LF and HF spectrum, including NFC, and operates reliably even behind thick protective glass. This makes it particularly suitable for outdoor applications such as ticketing or access control systems. The architecture enables slim HMI designs without the need for external reader hardware, with scalability planned for display sizes ranging from 6.2" to 21.5".

Wheel on Display (Wod): Modular HMI concept
In addition, DATA MODUL is showcasing Wheel on Display (WoD), an alternative HMI control concept successfully introduced last year. WoD combines encoder mechanics and capacitive touch technology in a single central control element and will be presented in additional variants at embedded world 2026. When combined with PCAP touchscreens, WoD enables modular operating concepts with haptic feedback and a high degree of design flexibility. It is particularly suitable for precise and intuitive control tasks in medical technology, industrial and machinery control, automotive and e-mobility applications, as well as smart building environments – even under challenging conditions such as operation with gloves or exposure to vibration.

AI-based food scale
A further demonstration highlighting our embedded expertise is an AI-based food scale, in which a single embedded SBC handles all system functions. Visitors can experience the latest optimised version live and see how features such as weight measurement, image capture, AI-based object recognition, price calculation and HMI control work together efficiently. This demo illustrates how we support customers across the entire development process – from system architecture and hardware selection through to AI model integration and training, up to series production.
