In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) provides completely transparent emulation of the C505CA at the device's maximum clock speed of 20 MHz
Signum Systems, manufacturer of embedded system development tools, has announced full emulation support for Infineon SABC505CA family of microcontrollers. PODX505CA in combination with Signum's USP-51A family In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) provides completely transparent emulation of the C505CA at the device's maximum clock speed of 20 MHz.

The USP-51A emulator base unit supports all the 8051 silicon vendors including Atmel, Atmel Wireless & Microcontroller, Dallas Semiconductor, Infineon, Intel, OKI, Philips, TDK and Texas Instruments. With the PODX505CA, USP-51A emulator is able to support all SABC505CA family devices equipped with CAN 2.0 interface, 10-bit A/D converter, 1K x 8 XRAM memory, 32K x 8 OTP code memory (or external 64K x 8 code memory) in addition to the standard 8051 peripherals. The emulator is equipped with complex breakpoint logic, including event counters and sequencers. It also has a 32k deep, 80 bit wide real time trace buffer with time stamp that allows pre- and post-capture filtering and measuring execution times with 100ns accuracy.

The emulator includes Chameleon Debugger, which runs under Windows ® 95, 98, NT and 2000. Chameleon Debugger supports all popular 8051 C-compilers at the source level with the latest advanced software debugging and verification tools like: variable pop-ups, drag & drop, pass-points, performance analysis, coverage analysis, code scope and register breakpoints. Chameleon Debugger also supports remote debugging via TCP/IP compatible networks which allows sharing of the emulator with any workstation on the local (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN).
