By providing Internet capabilities these devices can easily share information with other systems, thereby creating new business opportunities that were never before achievable.

Anytime, Anywhere Access
The Internet Device Server (IDS) allows the user to control and monitor simple serial devices (e.g. PIC processors) as well as complex systems over the Internet or a LAN. Users can interact with a standard browser from anywhere in the world and communicate with even the simplest controllers in a graphic format. Using our proprietary ENET software, up to 255, RS485 based MicroPac/EPAC Single Board Controllers can communicate to one IDS.

No software required on the remote device
Unlike many other embedded internet solutions, the IDS does not require software on the remote device.

Secure Control
The IDS comes complete with a Telnet module allowing secure direct control of the IDS remotely. When using Telnet, neither a monitor or keyboard are required, making the small server box very embeddable. Also included is a secure FTP module allowing uploading and downloading of files.

Extreme reliability
The IDS has no moving parts. The ability to boot and run from Flash eliminates the need for a hard drive and the IDS does not require a fan for either the processor or the power supply, making it extremely reliable and durable.

Multiple interfaces fit any environment
The server is fully HTTP version 1.1 compliant. The server normally processes requests via 10Base-T and TCP/IP, although with optional modem, PPP, and TCP/IP can be used. If access to the Web/LAN is strictly serial (RS232, 422, 485) then SLIP and UDP/IP or TCP/IP can be used. Once the server receives the request it can simply serve up HTML documents, invoke a custom CGI, C application, or EMAC's configurable CGI from the browser to a standard serial port (RS232, 422, 485), where virtually any device can be easily connected.
Any device with a microprocessor and a serial interface or network interface can be connected to the Internet with Annasoft's Internet Device Server.
