Intrinsix Merges With SEVA Technologies

Intrinsix and SEVA Technologies announced the signing of a definitive agreement to merge companies. The merger will take effect June 30 and over the following six months, the two companies will combine their operations. Financial details of the merger will not be disclosed.

SEVA, with 15 people in Fremont and San Diego, will operate during that period as SEVA Technologies - an Intrinsix Corp. subsidiary. Intrinsix Corp., with 185 employees in 16 major U.S. markets, will integrate its California team of 22 with the SEVA team. This integrated team will continue to supply premier microPlatform SoC and ASIC design services, as well as methodology consulting and training to its customers. The merger builds on the foundation Intrinsix has already established within the Silicon Valley market and extends its lead as the largest independent supplier of ASIC design services worldwide.

Jim Gobes, Intrinsix president, said of the merger: "This combination of SEVA Technologies and Intrinsix Corp. represents a major milestone for both companies. SEVA has been recognized as one of the premier design service companies in California. Yatin Trivedi and Larry Saunders, as the SEVA founders, are further recognized as having key EDA industry insights and leadership positions. Intrinsix intends to leverage that talent and reputation by combining the SEVA team with our world class services organization and specifically with our fast-growing five-location California operation. A superb combination at exactly the right time for both firms."

Larry Saunders and Yatin Trivedi will each assume the role of director of engineering and will report to Mark Beal, VP of Engineering and co-founder of Intrinsix.

Larry Saunders commented, "With the merger of Intrinsix and SEVA Technologies teams, we are combining two strong, complementary skill sets. SEVA Technologies is known for its HDL-based design and training expertise. Intrinsix is noted as a specialist for full-chip and system-on-chip design and verification. We believe the new team will quickly become the premier provider of microPlatform SoC design solutions throughout North America."

Yatin Trivedi added, "Over the last six years, SEVA Technologies has built a reputation for high-quality work as HDL-based design experts in California. The merger of SEVA Technologies and Intrinsix will help accelerate our growth and our ability to meet our customers' growing needs now and in the future."

This represents the second business combination by Intrinsix in its rapid expansion across the U.S. Last year, at this time, Intrinsix announced its acquisition of The VHDL Technology Group (Bethlehem, PA), a design services company providing modeling and related design services.

SEVA Technologies offers software and hardware design consulting services including methodology consulting, training and ASIC design services for the EDA market. Founded in 1994 by Yatin Trivedi and Larry Saunders, SEVA Technologies has been privately held and self funded with offices in Fremont and San Diego, CA.

Intrinsix Corp., based in Westboro, MA, is a leading independent provider of design services for ASIC and High Integration Embedded Systems. The company, founded in 1986, provides comprehensive ASIC and System design, simulation, synthesis, verification and test services to leading electronics companies utilizing industry standard CAE tools from EDA companies such as Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and Avant!.
