µITRON Compliant Real-Time Operating System

US Softwarersion 3.0, a real-time operating system compliant with µITRON 3.0, has been ported to Motorola's ColdFire family MCF5206e and MCF5307.

The MCF5307 processor is a high performance, low-cost, highly integrated microprocessor, designed for embedded control applications that combines a Version 3 ColdFire core with a Multiply Accumulate (MAC) unit, DRAM controller, DMA controller, timers, and parallel and serial interfaces. The time required for system design and implementation is reduced by packaging common system functions on chip and providing interfaces to 8-, 16-, and 32-bit DRAM, SRAM, ROM, and I/O devices.

The MCF5206e integrated microprocessor combines a Version 2 ColdFire core with several peripheral functions such as a DRAM controller, timers, parallel and serial interfaces, and system integration. The MCF5206e, an enhanced version of the MCF5206, provides a performance upgrade due to the increased 4 Kbyte I-cache and 8 Kbyte SRAM and increased frequency. The MCF5206e device also integrates an additional MAC unit, hardware divide, and two-channel DMA to the device while maintaining pin compatibility with the MCF5206.
