WinSystems' STD Bus and PC/104 Bus 33.6kbps modems provide embedded computer systems with a communications link to the internet using standard telephone lines. Called the MCM-33.6M and PCM-33.6M respectively, these units offer effective data throughput up to 115,200 by using error correction and data compression with 33.6kbps data rates. The modems support V.34bis, V.34, V.32bis, V.32, V.22bis, V.22A/B, V.23, and V.21, plus Bell 212A and 103 communications standards.
Both units integrate the functions of a stand-alone modem and a PC-compatible COM port to provide the user with a single card modem. Each support the industry standard enhanced "AT" command set which will work with off-the-shelf communications software written for "x86-compatible" PCs.
Since poor telephone line connections and/or noisy lines can cause erroneous data, these products support the Microcom Networking Protocol (MNP) providing a means for error detection and correction of high-speed modem transmissions. V.42 LAPM, MNP 2 - 4 and MNP 10 error correction is supported as well as V.42bis and MNP 5 data compression.
