Phoenix Technologies To Join Symbian Alliance To Develop Wireless Information Devices

SAN JOSE, Calif., February 15, 2000 - <%=company%> (Nasdaq:PTEC), the leader in system-enabling software solutions for PCs and connected digital devices - today announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Symbian, a leading software developer of tools for wireless information devices, to be a Symbian Competence Center. Comprised of independent companies, Symbian Competence Centers will act as an extension of Symbian's organization for business development, engineering and project management focused on wireless information device (WID) development.
