VAutomation, Inc., An ARC Cores Company's Turbo86 and Turbo 186 cores provide a 3x speed-up and a 16x larger address-space relative standard-component implementations of the 8086 and 80186 microprocessors. The cores are suited for SoC designs that require a 16-bit processor with a large address space. Both operate at over 80 MHz in a 0.35 micron ASIC technology and require 22,000 and 30,000 gates respectively. They are available in synthesizable VHDL and Verilog hardware description language form and can be directly synthesized into any ASIC or FPGA technology.
