SBC-6860 Single Board Computer

ACTIS Computer announces the introduction of a new PowerPC single board computer board. The SBC-6860 is based on the MPC860T (PowerQUICC) processor with a high performance environment for communications oriented applications.

The MPC860T processor provides a very efficient architecture where two processors are used in the same chip: a 32-bit PowerPC core controls all host system operations and a 32-bit embedded RISC processor is dedicated to the communications part for protocol handling. This single board computer, in 6U form factor, is a busless system where the main functions are made around the serial communications ports for either LAN or WAN requirements. The SBC-6860 was designed to offer a very open architecture through the Fast Ethernet port, an ISDN S-interface port, a multi-protocol serial port, an IrDA interface for infrared transmission and two RS-232 serial ports.

An additional advantage is the flexible I/Os extension which is offered by the two PC Card slots, compatible for 3.3 and 5 V cards, and the two IP Modules. These interfaces support high performance 16-bit modules at up to 32 MHz clock and with DMA capabilities.
