New press-fit backplane connectors, that use an innovative housing design to deliver reliable, high performance connection, have been introduced by Honda.

Ideal for use in applications such as backplane-to-disk drive connections, the connectors have been designed for use with SCSI and Fibre Channel disk drives and can also carry all required signals within one interface for mass storage applications.

The new SCA2 press-fit connectors feature Honda's C-shape contact, with this particular configuration not only ensuring excellent mechanical contact stability, but also preserving the integrity of the PCB holes, resulting in long life and ease of use. In addition, the connectors are available in both 40 and 80 way options for use in Fibre Channel disk drive applications and SCSI disk drive applications respectively.

Furthermore, the connectors feature a three point press fit pin for secure fastening and conform to SCA-2 specifications as set out by the Small Form Factor (SFF) Committee.
