VIVID Test Utility
Standalone Driver Test and Validation
VIVID Test simplifies your white-box testing by
providing a seamless way to exercise individual
driver functions from an interactive application.
VIVID Test invokes the driver through a special
scripting interface, and then reports returned
parameters and status. With VIVID test you
can quickly execute a function to validate a
program logic path, return to Visual C++ to
make any required changes, then retest the
function – all in a fraction of the time that would
be required with a traditional test application.
VBScript Support Automates Testing
VIVID Test allows you to save function calls to
a script file in VBScript format. These script
files can be used within VIVID Test as
initialization scripts to set your instrument into
a known state before a test is run, or to return
it to a known state post-execution. By
combining multiple scripts, it is easy to build
complex, full regression tests. You can even
transfer the scripts to Visual Basic and
compile them into stand-alone applications.
Black-box Testing Without Programming
Black box testing of your driver often involves
a complex series of driver calls to perform a
particular measurement. This series of calls
usually involves specific domain expertise.
Often, the needed expert is not a software
developer. With VIVID Test, these domain
experts can construct black-box test scripts --
without programming.
